📌 Types of Rate Plans Explained
When setting up prices and restrictions for your rate plans in Amenitiz, it’s important to understand how they work. Let’s break it down:
◾️ Independent Rate Plans
Think of these as your foundational plans – the big players. They operate entirely on their own, giving you full control.
- You can set their prices and restrictions exactly how you like.
- One example of an independent rate plan is your “Standard/default rate”
◾️ Derived Rate Plans
These are the most-used rate plans, and for good reason – they make pricing dynamic and flexible without requiring extra effort.
Derived Rate Plans work by taking your base price from an Independent Rate Plan and tweaking it. For instance:
- You can increase or decrease the price by a fixed amount or percentage.
- You can also adjust restrictions, like minimum stays or booking windows.
📍 Example1: Create a “Standard Breakfast Plan” derived from your Standard Rate, adding €5 to include breakfast.
📍 Example2: Your Standard Rate is €100. You create a Derived Rate Plan for OTAs with a +10% adjustment, so the OTA price becomes €110.
✨ Note: Once an Independent Rate Plan is set up, you can build as many Derived Rate Plans on top of it as you need – but remember, Derived Plans can’t be stacked on each other.
4️⃣ Define Price Settings
◾️ Derived Pricing
- Link prices to an existing plan and set a modification rule (e.g., +€10 or +15%).
- Any changes to the parent plan’s prices automatically update the derived plan.
Example: A “Standard Rate” at €100/night increases by €20 for a derived plan, making it €120/night.
◾️ Independent Pricing
- Choose “No, I want it to be independent” to set unique prices.
- Adjust rates directly in the inventory calendar using the Bulk Update feature.
5️⃣ Set Restrictions
◾️ Derived Restrictions (e.g. minimum stay)
- Link to an existing plan’s restrictions for simplicity.
- Changes to the parent plan’s restrictions automatically apply to the derived plan.
◾️ Independent Restrictions
- Create a unique schedule of restrictions, such as minimum stay or closed dates.
- Use Bulk Update in the inventory to make changes.
6️⃣ Set additional features
◾️ Link to OTAs
- Assign your rate plan to one or more OTAs.
- Remember, this is just a visual reminder. OTA connections require our Customer Care team assistance for activation.
◾️ Promo Codes
- Restrict access to rate plans by sharing exclusive promo codes.
- Guests can enter the code during booking to unlock special rates.
◾️ Room Selection
- Select the rooms where the rate plan will apply.
- For derived plans, only rooms linked to the parent plan can be chosen.
💡 Pro Tip: Regularly review your rate plans to adapt to market trends and maximise occupancy.
