Depending on your configuration on the plarform, there are different ways of receiving your payments on Booking.com:
> You can receive your payments regularly via bank transfer
> Or you can directly have access to credit cards and charge them: virtual credit cards and "real" credit cards.
If you receive your payments via bank transfer, or if you have access to virtual credit cards, it means that the option Payments by Booking.com is activated on your Booking.com account.
To fully benefit from the integration of AmenitizPay with Booking.com, we advise you to opt out from Payments by Booking.com.
This way you will stop receiving your payments via bank transfer, and you will also stop receiving virtual credit cards, which have a fixed amount and generate higher commissions on transactions.
You will only have access to the "real" credit cards of your clients, you will benefit from lower commission on your transactions, and you will be able to automate and centralize your payments.
Before opting out from Payments by Booking.com, contact the OTA to make sure you can have access to the credit cards.
- If you receive your payments via bank transfer:
In this case, your guests pay for their reservation on Booking.com, and the OTA sends you the payment via bank transfer, most of the time after the guest checks out.The first step is to verify if you can have access to credit cards. To do so, simply send a message to the Booking.com support asking if you can have access to your guest credit card, as you want to handle directly the payments:
Here is a template of the message that you can send, from your Booking.com account, selecting "Rates and availability - Other" as the subject:
Hello,
Could you please tell me if my account status allows me to receive credit cards directly from my customers.
I would like to have this confirmation before deactivating the "Payment by Booking.com" option. If Booking.com informs that you can’t have access to the credit cards yet, it’s just a matter of time, feel free to send back a message after a few weeks.
If Booking.com confirms that you can have access to the client's credit cards, go to step 2. - If you have access to your client's credit card:
If Booking.com confirms that you can have access to the credit cards, you can now safely opt out from the “Payment by Booking.com” option.
To do so, go to:
Finance > Finance settings > Deactivate Payments by Booking.com.
Select a reason and confirm.
Then, go to:
Property > Policies > Other policies > Guest payment options.
The option Cash only will be selected by default, click on Edit, and reply Yes to the question Do you accept credit cards at your property?, then save.
Lastly, contact Booking.com to make sure the credit card CVC access is also activated. Here is a template of the message that you can send, from your Booking.com account, selecting "Rates and availability - Other" as the subject:
Hello,
I need to have access to the clients' CVC.
Thanks for activating the access, and confirming as soon as possible.
Now, your Booking.com payments are automated by AmenitizPay as per your payment calendar.
As you only accept "real" credit cards, it means lower commission than the one applied to virtual credit cards: 1.4% instead of 2.9%, in addition to the 0.25 cts fixed fee.
Your pre-authorization settings will also be applied to your Booking.com reservations.
The cancellation policy on the Booking.com side needs to match the payment schedule on AmenitizPay. The available options on Booking.com are 1 night, 50%, or 100%.
Authentication required from the client:
For all the credit cards payments, an authentication from your guest will be required. This requirement will be emailed to your guest by Booking.com. If your guest has trouble accessing the authentication from Booking.com, you can quickly find the payment authentication link from your reservation payment details, and share it with your client.
Go to the reservation Payments tab. In the AmenitizPay section, click on the 3 dots on the right and select Payment details:
Copy the link from the Payment needs authentication section, and share it with your client:
To quickly share this link with your client, you can send it via Whatsapp using the Message guest option in the Client tab.
