How to customise the design of the Booking Engine

The booking engine is a vital part of your website, helping you automate and grow direct bookings. By reducing reliance on OTAs, it gives you more control over your reservations. This article explains how to customise it effectively.

Overview of the Booking engine section

The settings page is divided into two main sections:

  1. Design: you can personalise the visual appearance of your booking engine by selecting a layout, uploading a custom image, and managing the header.

  2. Options: you can configure how your booking engine works, including guest details, booking limits, and custom messages.

How to configure the design

To set up the design of your booking engine, go to:
Booking engine > Settings > Design.

Depending on your subscription, you’ll see different design options:

Ultimate Plan

  • Full-Screen layout – Offers an immersive, page-wide booking experience.

  • Side panel layout – A compact panel that slides in from the side, keeping the main site visible.

  • Custom cover image – Upload your own background image to match your branding.

Tip: Use images and colours consistent with your website. Recommended image size is 1350x270px.

Sales Pro Plan

  • Full-Screen layout – Sales Pro users have access to a fixed Full-Screen layout, offering a clear and immersive booking experience.

  • Custom cover image upload You can activate the custom cover image toggle to upload your own background image and replace the default design, helping your booking engine visually match your website.

  • Show Header – This setting allows you to display or hide the header. When enabled, the header includes your website link and basic property details – adding a layer of trust and consistency for your guests.

Step-by-step on how to set up the options tab

  1. Custom message for no availability – When no rooms are available, you can display a custom message to inform guests and suggest alternative actions.

  2. Customisation options:

    • Guest full address – Choose whether to request the full address (including city and postcode) or just the guest’s country.

    • People selector – Define how many adults and children appear in the dropdown.

    • Link room to cottage – If you offer both rooms and cottages, link them to manage availability across both spaces.

  3. Limit new bookings:

    • Set a time cut-off – For example, disable new bookings after 12:00 the day before arrival.

    • Define advance booking limits – Choose how many days in advance a guest can book.

    • Custom message – Display a note expl550aining why the dates are unavailable.

Note: This setting only applies to your Amenitiz booking engine. It will not affect your availability on OTAs like Booking.com or Airbnb – remember to update those separately if needed.
