Overview
A promotion applies a targeted discount on your Booking Engine, helping you attract more direct reservations during specific dates, seasons, or booking windows. You can create three types: Standard (discount during chosen dates), Last Minute (when the guest books shortly before arrival), and Early Bird (when the guest books well in advance).
Before you start
A promotion is tied to at least one rate plan. Make sure the rate plans you want to discount are already set up.
Promotions created in Amenitiz apply only on your Booking Engine — they're not sent to OTAs. For OTA promotions, set them up in each OTA's extranet.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Access your Promotions
In your Amenitiz admin, open the
Booking Enginesection.Click
Promotions. You'll see an overview of all the promotions you've created for your website.
2. Create a new promotion
Click Create a new promotion to start setting up your offer.
3. Choose a promotion type
Pick the type that fits the offer you want to run:
Standard — applies a discount during specific dates or a season.
Last Minute — applies when a guest books shortly before their arrival date.
Early Bird — applies when a guest books well in advance.
Each type guides you through the relevant settings.
4. Add a name and description
Fill in the promotion title and description — these appear to guests on your Booking Engine. Switch between languages using the language selector to translate them.
📌 Note
If you don't add a translation for a given language, guests see the default language.
5. Configure the discount and minimum stay
Under Promotion settings, choose:
Discount — a percentage (e.g. −10%) or a fixed amount (e.g. −10€).
Minimum stay — choose between no minimum, the same minimum as the rate plan, or a custom minimum for this promotion.
6. Set the promotion period and active days
Define when the promotion should be valid:
Start date.
End date.
Active days of the week (e.g. Friday–Sunday only).
7. Select the rooms the promotion applies to
Choose every room or only specific rooms. Only the selected rooms will offer this discount on your Booking Engine.
8. Choose the rate plans
Each promotion must be linked to at least one rate plan. The discount is calculated on top of that rate plan's price.
Example
Your Standard rate is 100€/night. You create a Last Minute promotion with a 10% discount linked to this rate, with a "books within 3 days of arrival" rule. If a guest books 2 days before the stay, the final price is 90€.
9. (Standard promotions only) Adjust advanced settings
Advanced settings let you control when the promotion is visible to guests — separately from the stay dates. Useful for flash sales or scheduled campaigns where you want guests to discover and book the offer before the actual stay dates.
Promotion period — when the discount applies (the stay dates).
Visibility period — when guests can see and book the promotion.
Example
You want to offer a summer promotion for stays between 1 July and 31 August, but you want guests to discover it before Christmas so they can plan ahead. Set:
Promotion period: 1 July → 31 August
Visibility period: 1 December → 31 December
Guests see the promotion in December but it only applies to stays in July and August.
10. Save and activate
Click Save and activate. The promotion appears on your Booking Engine according to the rules you've configured.
