How to find, create and manage a rate plan

Find, create, edit and retire the rate plans pushed from Amenitiz to your website, Booking Engine and OTAs.

Overview

This article explains how to find, create, edit and retire rate plans in Amenitiz. A rate plan combines the sales terms (cancellation + modification conditions), an included meal option, and either its own pricing calendar or a price modification derived from another rate. Rate plans are shown on your Booking Engine and/or sent to connected OTAs.

Use this article to add a new rate (for example, Non-refundable −10%), retire an old one, or fix a pricing mistake.

Before you start

  • Your subscription must include the Booking Engine.

  • The same rate plan can be shown on your Booking Engine and every connected OTA. For OTA-specific conditions (e.g. a Mobile Rate on Booking.com), create a separate rate plan and link only that OTA.

Step-by-step instructions

Find your existing rate plans

  • Go to Booking EnginePricing.

  • The page — titled Your rate plans — lists every rate plan with: Name, Pricing type (standalone or derived), Sales terms (cancellable / modifiable), an Activate toggle, the Availability window, and the Weekday and Weekend stay restrictions.

  • Click a rate plan to open it — the linked rooms are shown inside the plan, not in the overview.

Create a rate plan

  • On the Your rate plans page, click Create a new pricing. The form opens in tabs: General, Pricing, Validity and Link this pricing to an OTA.

  • Fill in the key fields:

    • Name — per language; visible to guests.

    • Pricing source — choose whether this rate is standalone (its own pricing calendar) or derived from an existing rate. Derived rates only require a price modification (percentage or fixed, discount or increase); standalone rates have a Default price and their own calendar.

    • Select Sales terms — pick an existing sales term (cancellation, modification and payment conditions) or create a new one.

    • Included meal in this price — None, Breakfast, Half board or Full board.

    • Pricing per room — select the rooms this rate applies to.

    • Display on Amenitiz — yes/no, to show this rate on your Booking Engine and manual reservations.

    • Link this pricing to an OTA (OTA tab) — optional: connect this rate to one or more OTAs via the Channel Manager.

  • Click Save. The rate plan is created; switch its Activate toggle on the list page when you're ready to sell it.

Edit or retire a rate plan

  • Open a rate plan, update the fields, and click Save. Changes apply to future bookings; existing reservations keep the rate plan, price and sales terms that applied at the time of booking.

  • To take a rate plan out of circulation, turn its Activate toggle off on the list page.

  • To delete a rate plan permanently, open the three-dot menu and click Remove rate plan.

⚠️ Warning: Deletion is irreversible and is only allowed if no other rate plan derives from this one and if it is not currently active on the Channel Manager. If it's still being sent to an OTA, deactivate it on the Channel Manager first. If you only want to stop new bookings on it, turn the Activate toggle off instead.

FAQs

Where exactly do I find rate plans in the platform?

In the sidebar: Booking EnginePricing. The page is titled Your rate plans and lists every rate plan.

What's the difference between a standalone and a derived rate plan?

A standalone rate plan has its own pricing calendar — you set actual prices per day. A derived rate plan inherits prices from another rate and applies a modification on top (percentage or fixed, discount or increase). You choose between the two when creating the rate plan.

Why can't I see the rooms linked to a rate plan in the list?

The overview shows the plan name, pricing type, sales terms, activate toggle, availability window and stay restrictions. The linked rooms appear inside each rate plan — open it to see them.

Does changing a rate plan affect existing reservations?

No. Existing reservations keep the rate plan, price and sales terms that applied when the booking was made. New bookings use the updated values.

Can the same rate plan behave differently on two OTAs?

No. One rate plan pushes the same values to each linked OTA. If you need OTA-specific conditions (e.g. a Mobile Rate), create a separate rate plan and link only that OTA.

Why can't I delete this rate plan?

Rate plans cannot be deleted if (a) other rate plans are derived from this one, or (b) the rate plan is currently active on the Channel Manager. Change the derivation on the other plans, or deactivate this rate on the Channel Manager, and try again.

How do I add a promo code to a rate plan?

Use a dedicated rate plan with a lower modification and enable the "Restrict via a Promo-code" option. Keep it on your Booking Engine only. See our promo-code article for the full flow.
