In this article, you’ll learn how to create a rate plan specifically for Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) — keeping your Booking Engine separate from your OTA pricing.
Step-by-step guide
1. Create a new rate plan
Start by creating a new rate plan in your Booking Engine settings.
Go to Booking Engine > Pricing — and click Create a new pricing.
Need a refresher? This article walks you through it.
2. Set up the OTA rate plan
Give your plan a name and description, then configure it so it only applies to OTAs.
Choose the relevant Sales Term.
Set “Show on Amenitiz” to No — this hides it from your Booking Engine.
3. Configure price settings
Choose whether the plan should have its own prices, or be based on another rate.
Independent plan — Manage prices directly in the Inventory.
Derived plan — Link it to another plan and apply a percentage or value difference.
👉 Example
Your Standard Rate is €100. You create a Derived Rate Plan for OTAs with a +10% markup — the OTA rate will become €110 automatically.
💡 Tip
Derived Rate Plans are the most-used setup for OTA pricing – and for good reason. They allow you to stay flexible while keeping your pricing synced with your main rate. They build off your Independent Rate Plan — then apply a fixed amount or percentage change. The same logic applies for restrictions: link to a restriction plan if you want those settings inherited.
4. Link to an OTA
In the “Link this pricing to an OTA” section, toggle “Yes” and pick the OTA you want.
⚠️ Warning
Selecting an OTA here is for internal visibility only. Our support team will still need to make the actual connection for you. Learn more here.
5. Assign rooms and save
Select which rooms should be included in the new rate and click Save.
