How to modify the name and URL of a page

Rename a page on your Amenitiz website and change its URL, per language. Changing a URL doesn't redirect the old address, so update your links.

Overview

You can rename a page on your website and change the URL it lives at. Both are edited in the same panel, separately for each language you've activated.

Before you start

  • You need the Can edit the website permission to manage pages.

  • The home, rooms and contact pages can be renamed, but their URL is fixed and can't be changed.

  • Changing a page's URL doesn't redirect the old address to the new one. See Change the page URL below before you edit a URL.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. In the sidebar, go to Website → Pages. You'll see the list of pages on your website.

  2. On the row of the page to modify, click the three dots and choose Edit this page. The page settings open.

1. Change the page name

  1. At the top of the panel, click the flag of the language you want to edit.

  2. In the Title field, type the new name for the page.

  3. Repeat for each language you've activated.

  4. Click Save.

2. Change the page URL

⚠️ Important

The old URL isn't redirected to the new one. Anyone who opens the old address (from a search result, a social media post, a booking platform listing or a printed QR code) lands on your home page instead of this page.

Search engines treat the new address as a new page, so it can take a while to rank as well as the old one did. If the page already brings you visitors, keep its URL and change only its name.

  1. At the top of the panel, click the flag of the language you want to edit.

  2. In the Your URL field, type the end of the address. The start of the address is shown next to the field and can't be changed.

  3. Repeat for each language you've activated. A language left empty uses the URL of your website's default language.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Update every link you control that pointed to the old address: social media profiles, your Google Business Profile, booking platform listings, emails and printed QR codes.

FAQs

Which characters can I use in a page URL?

Your URL is tidied up automatically when you save: letters are made lowercase, accents are replaced with the plain letter (é becomes e), spaces become hyphens and symbols such as %, & or ? are removed. If you leave the field empty, the URL is created from the page name.

Can I have a different URL per language?

Yes. Click the flag of each language and fill in its URL. For example, a page can read breakfast in English and desayuno in Spanish.

I changed a page URL — will the old URL still work?

No. The old address isn't redirected to the new page: visitors who open it land on your home page. Update the links you control, such as your social media profiles, Google Business Profile, booking platform listings and QR codes. If the page already ranks well in search results, keep its URL and change only its name.

Can I change the URL of the home, rooms or contact page?

No. These pages are built into every Amenitiz website: you can rename them, but their URL is fixed, so the URL field doesn't appear for them.

Where do I add or delete a page?

In the same Website → Pages section. Full walkthrough in how to add, modify or delete a page on the website.
