How to modify the text of a block on the website ✍️

Edit the text shown in any block on your Amenitiz website — across all your languages — using the Customize editor in your admin area.

Your Amenitiz website is built from blocks — sections like the hero banner, "About us", rooms grid, contact form, testimonials, etc. Each block has text you can update at any time from the admin.

Changes are saved live — what you save is immediately visible to anyone browsing your website.

Before you start

  • If your website is multilingual, you'll need to update each language separately — switch language tabs in the editor before saving each one.

  • Changes go live as soon as you save. There's no draft or "publish" step per block.

  • You can format text with bold, italic, links, lists and headings using the editor toolbar.

Step-by-step guide

1. Open the website editor

In the admin sidebar, click Website, then Website again in the submenu. On the top right, click Customize.

Open the Customize editor

2. Open the page and select the block

You land on the home page by default. Click Pages in the top horizontal bar to switch to another page, then click the name of the page containing the block you want to edit. In the sidebar of blocks, select the block to open its editor.

3. Edit the text and save

Click the Content section. Pick the language tab you want to edit (e.g. English), update the text in the editor, then save. Repeat for each language your website supports.

Important rules

  • Each language is independent. Saving in English doesn't update Spanish, French, etc. — repeat the edit on every language tab.

  • Changes are live immediately — no preview or staging step. If you need to draft text, prepare it elsewhere first, then paste in when ready.

  • Formatting via the toolbar only. Use the editor's own buttons for bold, italic, links, lists and headings. Pasting from Microsoft Word or Google Docs can carry over invisible styling that breaks the page layout.

  • Allowed HTML — if you switch to source view: paragraphs, headings (h1-h6), bold/strong, italic/em, underline, links, lists, line breaks, horizontal rules, and images. Other tags (scripts, custom styles, etc.) are stripped automatically.

  • Keep block text reasonably short. Very long text blocks can break the page's visual rhythm, especially on mobile.

FAQs

I updated the text but the change doesn't show on my website. Why?

Two common causes: (1) your browser is showing a cached version — refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R (or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac); (2) you edited the wrong language tab — confirm the language tab matches the language version of the site you're viewing.

Do I have to update each language separately?

Yes. Each language is stored separately. Switch the language tab in the block editor, update the text, save. Repeat for every language your website supports.

Is there an "undo" or version history for block text?

There's no per-block version history visible in the editor. Save a copy of the original text somewhere safe before making big edits so you can roll back manually if needed.

Can I add a link or a button inside the text?

Yes for links — highlight the text in the editor and use the link button on the toolbar. For buttons, use the dedicated Button text / Button link fields on the block (when available) instead of inline.

I pasted from Word and the layout looks weird. How do I fix it?

Word and Google Docs paste invisible styling along with the text. Clear it: select the pasted text and click the editor's "Remove formatting" button (a small eraser icon), then re-apply bold/italic/headings using the toolbar. Or paste as plain text first (Ctrl+Shift+V / Cmd+Shift+V).
