How to add social network links to your website footer

Show Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube and TripAdvisor icons in your website footer linking to your profiles.

Overview

Add links to your social media profiles so that clickable icons appear in your website footer. Visitors click an icon to open the profile in a new tab.

You can link to:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • X (Twitter)

  • YouTube

  • TripAdvisor

Leave a field empty to hide that icon — the footer only shows icons for networks where you've entered a URL.

Before you start

  • You need admin access to the website editor.

  • Have the full URL of each profile ready (e.g. https://instagram.com/yourhotel) — not just the handle.

  • Social links are the same across every language of your website. You set them once.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. In the sidebar, go to WebsiteWebsite.

  2. Click Customize in the top right.

  3. In the blocks sidebar, click Bottom of page.

  4. Click the Content section to expand the input fields.

  5. Paste the full URL of each profile into the matching field. Leave the others empty.

  6. Click Save. The icons appear on your live website right away.

Important rules

📌 Note — Only Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube and TripAdvisor are supported. LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest and others are not available yet.

Important — The URL is not checked for validity. If you paste an incorrect link, the icon still shows on your site but the link won't work. Test each icon after saving.

FAQs

Which social networks are supported?

Five: Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TripAdvisor. Other networks (LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, etc.) cannot be added to the footer at this time.

I don't see an icon I just added — why?

The most common causes:

  • The field is still empty — icons only appear when the URL is filled in.

  • You didn't click Save after entering the URL.

  • You entered something other than a URL — the icon will still appear, but clicking it won't work. Open your live website and test the link.

Do I need to include https:// in the URL?

It's strongly recommended. We add http:// automatically if you paste a URL without a protocol, but https:// is more secure — always copy the full URL from your browser's address bar.

Can I have different social links per language?

No. Social network links are global to your website — the same URLs are used across all language versions of your site.

Do the icons open in a new tab?

Yes. All social icons open in a new browser tab so visitors don't leave your website.

What is the "Free field"?

An optional text field in the same footer section. Use it for any extra information you want to display in the footer (a slogan, a legal mention, a phone number…). It is not linked to any social network.

How do I remove a social link?

Open the same Bottom of page → Content section, clear the field, and click Save. The icon disappears from your live website immediately.
