Updated this week

Overview

Meta titles and meta descriptions are short texts that describe the content of a page. They appear in search engine results and help potential guests find your property online.

In Amenitiz, you can manage meta titles and meta descriptions for each page of your website from Website > SEO section. You can write them manually or use AI to generate them automatically in all your active languages at once.

This article explains:

  • What meta titles and meta descriptions are

  • How to add or edit them manually

  • How to use AI to generate or regenerate them in all languages

What are meta titles and meta descriptions?

When someone searches for your property on Google or another search engine, the results show two key pieces of text for each page:

  • Meta title — The clickable headline shown in search results. It should clearly describe the page content.

  • Meta description — The short summary shown below the title. It gives searchers a reason to click on your page.

Well-written meta titles and descriptions can improve your visibility in search results and attract more visitors to your website.

💡 Tip: Keep meta titles under 60 characters and meta descriptions under 160 characters for best results in search engines.

Step-by-step instructions

Access the SEO settings

1. Go to the SEO section

  • Navigate to WebsiteSEO

  • You will see a list of all your website pages with their current meta titles and meta descriptions

2. Select a page

  • Click on the page you want to edit

  • The meta title and meta description fields will be displayed

📌 Note: When you create a new page, the meta title and meta description fields are empty by default. They are not automatically generated. You need to either write them manually or use the AI generation button.

Add or edit meta titles and descriptions manually

1. Open the page's SEO settings

  • Go to WebsiteSEO

  • Select the page you want to edit

2. Edit the fields

  • Type your preferred meta title in the Meta title field

  • Type your preferred meta description in the Meta description field

3. Save your changes

  • Click Save to apply your changes

💡 Tip: Write meta descriptions that are specific to each page. Avoid using the same text across all pages — search engines may treat duplicate descriptions as low-quality content.

Generate or regenerate meta titles and descriptions with AI

You can use AI to automatically generate meta titles and meta descriptions for a page. This is especially useful if you have multiple languages configured, as the AI generates content for all your active languages at once.

1. Open the page's SEO settings

  • Go to WebsiteSEO

  • Select the page you want to generate meta content for

2. Click the AI regenerate button

  • Click the Regenerate with AI button

  • The AI will generate a meta title and meta description based on the page content

  • The generated text will be applied to all active languages simultaneously

3. Review and save

  • Review the generated meta title and description for each language

  • Edit them if needed

  • Click Save to apply

Important

  • The AI regenerate button overwrites any existing meta title and description for all languages

  • If you have manually customised the text for a specific language, using the regenerate button will replace it

  • Always review the generated content before saving

📌 Note: You can click the regenerate button as many times as needed. Each click generates new content based on the current page content.

FAQs

Are meta titles and descriptions generated automatically when I create a new page?

No. When you create a new page, the meta title and meta description fields are empty. You need to either type them manually or click the Regenerate with AI button to generate them.

Does the AI generate content for all languages at once?

Yes. When you click the Regenerate with AI button, the AI generates meta titles and descriptions for all your active languages simultaneously. You do not need to generate them one language at a time.

How long should my meta title and meta description be?

For best results in search engines:

  • Meta title: up to 60 characters

  • Meta description: up to 160 characters

Longer texts may be cut off in search results.

Can I edit the AI-generated content after generating it?

Yes. After the AI generates the content, you can edit the meta title and description for any language before saving. The generated text is a starting point that you can adjust as needed.

Can I regenerate meta content for just one language?

No. The AI regenerate button generates content for all active languages at once. If you want to update only one language, edit the field manually for that language after regenerating.

Are meta titles and descriptions generated automatically when I activate a new language?

Yes. When you activate a new language for your website, meta titles and meta descriptions are automatically generated for that language across all your existing pages. You do not need to manually generate them for each page. However, we recommend reviewing the generated content to make sure it fits your preferences — you can always edit them afterwards from Website > SEO.
