If you have subscribed to the booking engine option with Amenitiz, you probably want to implement General Terms and Conditions. This article explains how to create them.
What are General Terms and Conditions?
General Terms and Conditions are a written document that acts as a form of contract between you and your guests, outlining the rights and responsibilities of each party.
By booking with you, your guests confirm that they have read and accepted these terms and conditions, so you are protected from any liability.
If you have AmenitizPay, these terms and conditions will also be accepted by your guests on manual reservations, as explained here.
Are they mandatory?
General Terms and Conditions are not mandatory, but we highly recommend having them, as they can protect you in case of an issue with your guests.
General Terms and Conditions vs. sales terms
These two are often confused, but they serve different purposes:
Sales terms are specific to a rate and define the rules of that rate (e.g. non-refundable, non-modifiable).
General Terms and Conditions are a binding document valid for all your bookings.
How to create your General Terms and Conditions
Go to Settings > Terms and conditions.
You will then access a text editor that lets you enter all the terms and conditions you want.
When you're done, save your changes. Your General Terms and Conditions will then automatically be presented to your guests at booking time on your Amenitiz website and booking engine.
Frequently asked questions
Can Amenitiz provide me with a template?
For legal reasons, Amenitiz cannot provide you with a template for your General Terms and Conditions, as they must be specific to your accommodation and your needs.
You can however find plenty of advice by running a quick search on your favourite search engine, or by consulting your local hospitality association or a legal advisor.
Where will my guests see and accept the terms?
When guests book through your Amenitiz website or booking engine, they must confirm acceptance of your General Terms and Conditions before completing the reservation.
Do guests accept the terms on manual reservations too?
Yes, if you use AmenitizPay. Guests will also accept your General Terms and Conditions on manual reservations. See this article for more details.
Can I update my terms later?
Yes. You can edit your General Terms and Conditions at any time from Settings > Terms and conditions. Updates apply to new bookings made after the change; bookings made before the update remain bound by the version of the terms accepted at that time.
