How to verify your direct bookings stay commission-free

Direct bookings via your website or entered manually never incur a commission. AmenitizBoost only charges 12% on the room amount of bookings its paid ads generated — here's how to check on every reservation.

Overview

Direct bookings on your Amenitiz website are never charged a commission. AmenitizBoost only charges commission on bookings that its paid advertising campaigns generated for you — never on bookings you would have received anyway.

This article shows which of your bookings include a commission, which don't, and how to check on any reservation.

Before you start

Your bookings come from different sources, each handled differently:

  • Amenitiz — guest booked directly via your website. No commission.

  • Manual — you entered the booking yourself in the admin. No commission.

  • AmenitizBoost — guest booked after clicking one of your paid ads. 12% commission on the room charges.

  • Booking.com / Airbnb / Expedia / … — the OTA's own fees apply, not an Amenitiz commission.

The source is shown as a badge on every reservation.

Step-by-step instructions

Check the source of a single booking

  1. Open the reservation from Reservations or Planning.

  2. Look at the source badge at the top of the booking detail.

  3. Match the source against this list:

    • Amenitiz → direct via your website, no commission.

    • Manual → entered by you, no commission.

    • AmenitizBoost → attributed to a paid ad, 12% commission applies.

    • Any OTA name → OTA fees apply, no AmenitizBoost commission.

Important rules

📌 Note — AmenitizBoost commission is 12% of the room charges only. City tax, discounts, gift cards and insurance are excluded from the commission base. VAT is added on top of the commission.

Important — A 30-day attribution window applies. A booking made within 30 days of clicking an AmenitizBoost ad counts as ad-driven. After 30 days, the click expires and any later booking is treated as organic — and remains commission-free.

Cancellation reverses commission — If you cancel an AmenitizBoost booking, a matching credit is created automatically. You are never charged commission on a cancelled booking.

FAQs

What counts as a "direct" booking?

Two cases:

  • Booking engine — a guest goes to your Amenitiz website and books, without ever clicking an AmenitizBoost ad.

  • Manual — you enter the booking yourself in the admin (for example for a phone or walk-in guest).

Both have 0% commission from Amenitiz.

How does the 30-day attribution window work?

When a future guest clicks one of your AmenitizBoost ads, we record the click. If they book your hotel within the next 30 days, that booking is attributed to AmenitizBoost — even if they returned to your site later through a Google search or direct visit. After 30 days, the click is dropped and any later booking is treated as organic, with no commission.

What's included in the 12% commission base?

Only the room charges (nights, extras and custom items added to the room). The following are excluded from the commission base:

  • City tax

  • Discounts

  • Gift cards

  • Insurance

VAT is added on top of the calculated commission.

What happens if I cancel an AmenitizBoost booking?

A reversing credit is created automatically. You are never charged commission on a cancelled booking.

What about Booking.com, Airbnb and Expedia reservations?

Those reservations have OTA fees set by the OTA, not by Amenitiz. They never carry an AmenitizBoost commission. The booking detail will show the OTA's name as the source.

Can a single guest's booking switch between direct and AmenitizBoost?

No. The source of each booking is set at the moment the booking is created, based on the guest's most recent qualifying click. It does not change afterwards. If a guest clicked an ad and booked within 30 days, the booking stays attributed to AmenitizBoost for its entire lifetime.

I don't subscribe to AmenitizBoost. Can I still be charged commission?

No. AmenitizBoost commission only applies when AmenitizBoost is actively running paid campaigns for your hotel. If you don't subscribe, every direct booking is free of commission, period.
