How to add extras to a booking

Learn how to add extras to a booking, understand how they affect charges and bills, and decide whether to collect payment immediately or later.

Overview

Extras allow you to add additional services or fees to a booking, such as cleaning fees, meals, or other paid services. When you add an extra, it is recorded as a charge and grouped into a bill, which then affects the total amount due on the booking.

You can add extras from both the desktop platform and the mobile app. Adding an extra does not require you to take payment immediately. You can choose to collect payment later from the Payments tab.


Before you start

  • The extra must already be created in your Amenitiz account

  • You must have access to the reservation you want to update


Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the reservation

You can add extras from either the desktop platform or the mobile app.

  • From the mobile app:

    • Log in to the Amenitiz mobile app.

    • Open the reservation from the Activity or Calendar tab.

  • From the desktop platform:

    • Go to Reservations or Planning.

    • Open the booking and click View booking details.

2. Add an extra

  • Go to the Charges section of the booking.

  • Click Add charge (desktop) or Add an extra (mobile).

  • Select the extra you want to add.

  • Only extras already created in your account can be selected.

  • Confirm the quantity and price if needed.

  • Save the charge.

The extra is added as a charge and included in a bill.

3. Understand how extras affect bills and payments

When an extra is added:

  • It increases the total amount of the bill

  • If the bill was already fully paid, it may reopen with a new amount due

  • The booking’s payment status updates automatically

At this stage, no payment is required. You are only updating the charges.


FAQs

Does adding an extra automatically charge the guest?

No. Adding an extra only updates the charges and bill. Payment must be processed separately.


Why did my bill reopen after adding an extra?

If the booking was already paid, adding a new extra creates a new amount due on the bill.


Can I add multiple extras to the same booking?

Yes. Each extra is added as a separate charge and grouped into the relevant bill.


Can I add extras after check-in or during the stay?

Yes. Extras can be added at any time and paid immediately or later.
