What is NF525?
NF525 is a certification linked to the French anti-fraud VAT law (Article 88 of the 2016 Finance Law).
It applies to any software used to record sales transactions and payments. The certification confirms that the system:
Records financial data in a tamper-proof way
Prevents deletion or silent modification of fiscal records
Ensures secure archiving and traceability
Maintains chronological records of transactions

What NF525 means for your property

Is NF525 the same as French e-invoicing?
No. NF525 covers how payments and fiscal records are stored. French e-invoicing (PDP) covers how B2B invoices are sent and reported to the tax authorities. Do I need to take any action?
