How to activate and connect Chekin in Spain

Activate Chekin from the Amenitiz Marketplace, connect SAS Hospedaría / Policía, and monitor guest submissions from inside Amenitiz.

📌 Phased rollout — The new Chekin integration activates gradually for all hotels. If you don't see the Chekin Portal in your sidebar yet, you haven't been migrated — your current Chekin setup keeps working as before.

Overview

Chekin collects guest data and submits it to the Spanish authorities (SAS Hospedaría for Policía Nacional and Guardia Civil, and the regional Ertzaintza or Mossos d'Esquadra where applicable) on your behalf. This guide applies to properties in Spain 🇪🇸.

When you activate Chekin from the Amenitiz Marketplace, three things happen automatically:

  • Chekin Portal appears in your Amenitiz sidebar. You manage bookings, police credentials, and submissions without leaving Amenitiz.

  • An automated online check-in email is created and attached to every room. Guests fill the form on your own website.

  • Guest data syncs back to Amenitiz automatically once the form is completed.

Before you start

Important

You must create your SAS Hospedaría account on the official government portal before activating Chekin. Spanish hotels cannot submit to the police without it.

  • SAS Hospedaría credentials (Username and Password).

  • If you also report to Ertzaintza (Basque Country) or Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalonia), gather those credentials too.

  • If you already created a Chekin account on chekin.com, do not log in there. Activate from the Amenitiz Marketplace.

Part 1 — Activate Chekin from Amenitiz

  1. Go to Marketplace and search for Chekin.

  2. Click Activate.

  3. Enter your email and create a password.

  4. Select Hotel (hotels and bed & breakfasts) or Vacation Rental (multi-property managers).

  5. Click Create account.

⚠️ Warning

The property type cannot be changed later. To switch, delete the Chekin account and activate it again from the Marketplace.

Part 2 — Connect SAS Hospedaría

After activation, open the Chekin Portal from your Amenitiz sidebar.

  1. Go to the Properties tab and click your property name.

  2. In Property Info, fill every field, then click Save Changes.

  3. In Online check-in, toggle Send online check-in to guests automatically and pick when the form is sent. Click Save Changes.

  4. In Legal:

    • Toggle Activate the automatic sending of guest data to your police account.

    • Enter your SAS Hospedaría credentials.

    • If you report to a regional police force (Ertzaintza, Mossos d'Esquadra), enter those credentials in the matching section.

    • Click Save Changes.

📌 Note

Missing fields in Property Info block submissions to SAS Hospedaría.

Monitor booking status

In the Chekin Portal, open the Bookings tab to follow guest data completion. Each guest has a status:

  • Completed — all guest data was collected and sent to the authorities.

  • Incomplete / On hold — fields are missing; Chekin cannot submit yet.

If a guest has not filled the form, resend the email from the Chekin Portal or copy the link and share it directly.

If the automatic 11 PM submission did not go through, open the reservation, go to Police (Check-in), and click Send manually.

💡 Tip

Use the Chekin mobile app to manage bookings on the go: iOS | Android.

Guest data sync

When a guest completes the form, Amenitiz updates the client record on the booking automatically — including the region (derived from the province). You can also pull the data manually with the Fetch Chekin info button on the booking. See: How to import guest information from Chekin.
