When you create a new room in Amenitiz and want it to sell on your existing OTA connection (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Vrbo, Hostelworld…), the room won't be sent automatically. You need to prepare both sides — Amenitiz and the OTA — so the new room can be linked to the connection.
This guide walks you through every step.
Before you start
The room must already exist in your Amenitiz account. If it doesn't, create it first.
You must already have an active connection with the OTA. This guide is only for adding a room to an existing connection, not for setting up a brand-new OTA channel.
You must have access to your OTA extranet (Booking.com extranet, Airbnb host account, Expedia Partner Central…).
Step-by-step
1. Create the room on the OTA, with the same structure as Amenitiz
The room on the OTA must match the structure you have in Amenitiz:
If you have 1 room with several units in Amenitiz (e.g. 1 listing × 5 identical units), create it the same way on the OTA — one listing with multiple units.
If you have several separate rooms in Amenitiz (e.g. 4 different room types as 4 listings), create 4 separate listings on the OTA.
📝 For Airbnb, you only need to create the listing — Amenitiz will push the inventory during the mapping step.
2. Booking.com only — set up pricing per person if you use it
If your room uses per-person pricing (check in Amenitiz under Property → Accommodations), enable the same pricing model on Booking.com for the new room before linking.
Per-person pricing on Amenitiz must match per-person pricing on Booking.com — otherwise rates won't sync correctly.
3. Add the new room to your OTA rate plan in Amenitiz
Open the rate plan used for this OTA in Amenitiz and add the new room to it. Without this, the connection cannot push availability or prices for the new room.
⚠️ The number of rate plans on the OTA and on Amenitiz must match. If adding the new room created an extra rate plan on the OTA, create the same rate plan in Amenitiz so it can be linked during the connection update.
For Booking.com, check rate plans under Rates and availability → Calendar. All rate plans must be XML-managed (synced from Amenitiz), not "% higher / lower than the standard rate".
4. Set up the inventory for the new room
If the new room is on a rate plan that is not already linked to another, open the inventory and configure:
Prices (per pricing type)
Restrictions (min/max stay, closed to arrival, closed to departure)
Availability (open/close dates)
These values will be sent to the OTA when the connection is updated.
5. Calendars on the OTA
You don't need to fill in seasonalities, prices or restrictions on the OTA calendar. Once the connection is updated, Amenitiz takes over and pushes this information automatically.
6. Update the connection
Once both sides are ready, link the new room to the connection:
Airbnb — self-service. Add the room from your Amenitiz dashboard.
Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo, Hostelworld and other channels — contact our support team. We will update the connection on our side once your Amenitiz and OTA setup match.
Important rules
Structure must match. The OTA listing(s) must mirror the Amenitiz setup (units vs separate rooms).
Rate plans must match. Same number of rate plans on both sides, all in XML / synced mode on the OTA.
Inventory before connection. Set up prices, restrictions and availability in Amenitiz before contacting support to update the connection.
Don't fill calendars on the OTA. Amenitiz pushes the data — manual edits will be overwritten.
FAQs
Can I do all of this myself, or do I need Amenitiz support?
Adding rooms to Airbnb is self-service from your Amenitiz dashboard. For Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo, Hostelworld and other channels, you do the OTA-side setup yourself but our support team updates the connection on the Amenitiz side.
How long does the connection update take?
Once you contact support with both sides ready, the update is usually completed within a few business days. Airbnb self-service mapping is instant.
What if I created a new rate plan on the OTA by mistake?
Either delete the duplicate rate plan on the OTA, or create the matching rate plan in Amenitiz so it can be linked. Rate plans must match 1-to-1 between Amenitiz and the OTA.
Do I need to fill in prices and restrictions on the OTA?
No. Once the connection is updated, Amenitiz pushes prices, restrictions and availability from your inventory. Manual edits on the OTA will be overwritten.
