How to accept or decline Airbnb booking requests

Review Airbnb reservation requests that aren't instant bookings in the Reservation requests tab, and accept or decline them with a reason and a message to the guest — without opening Airbnb.

Overview

Some Airbnb guests have to request a booking instead of booking instantly. These requests appear in the Reservation requests tab in Amenitiz, where you accept or decline them. Accepted requests become bookings in your calendar automatically, once Airbnb confirms.

Before you start

  • You have 24 hours to respond. If you don't, Airbnb declines the request automatically.

  • A pending request doesn't block your Amenitiz calendar. Before you accept, Amenitiz checks whether the dates are still available and warns you if they aren't.

  • This works for Airbnb connections set up through the Channel Manager.

Accept a request

  1. Go to Channel ManagerReservation requests.

  2. Use the filter to show Pending requests. The Pending tab shows a count of requests waiting for you.

  3. Review the request. Each row shows the Status, Guest, Dates, Listing and the guest's Message.

  4. Click Accept, then click Accept reservation to confirm.

💡 Tip

After you accept, the request shows Accepted — waiting for Airbnb to confirm. Once Airbnb confirms, the booking appears in your calendar and a View booking link appears. Refresh the page to see it.

Decline a request

  1. On the request, click Decline.

  2. In Decline reservation request, choose a Reason: The dates aren't available, The guest isn't a good fit for my place, I'm not comfortable accepting, The listing is no longer available, or Other.

  3. Write a Message to guest (between 30 and 240 characters).

  4. Click Decline request.

Important rules

  • You have 24 hours to respond. On timeout, Airbnb declines the request automatically and may keep the dates blocked on Airbnb.

  • A message to the guest is always required to decline (30–240 characters).

  • The list doesn't refresh on its own. Refresh the page to see the confirmed result after you accept or decline.

FAQs

Why do some Airbnb bookings arrive as requests instead of confirmed bookings?

Airbnb sends a request when the booking isn't eligible for instant booking — for example the guest doesn't meet the listing's requirements, the stay is longer than instant booking allows, or instant booking is off for the listing.

I accepted a request but the booking isn't in my calendar yet. Why?

After you accept, Airbnb still has to confirm. The request shows Accepted — waiting for Airbnb to confirm until then. Refresh the page — once confirmed, the booking appears with a View booking link.

Does a pending request block those dates in my calendar?

No. A pending request doesn't hold or block your Amenitiz calendar. Before you accept, Amenitiz checks whether the dates are still available and warns you if they aren't.

What happens if I don't respond in time?

After 24 hours Airbnb declines the request for you. Airbnb may also keep those dates blocked on its side, so check your Airbnb availability if a request times out.

Do I have to write a message to decline?

Yes. A message to the guest is required for every decline, between 30 and 240 characters. It also helps Airbnb improve future matches.
