How to build a custom report with AI

Describe the report you need in your own words, for example all Booking.com reservations from March that were not cancelled, and the Report Builder sets up the dataset, columns and filters for you.

Overview

In the Report Builder, you can describe the report you need in your own words. The AI picks the dataset, suggests the columns and sets the filters and period for you, including related columns you might not have thought of.

You check what it built, adjust it if needed and save it. Your report then works like any other saved report.

Before you start

  • To build a report step by step without the AI, see How to use the report builder.

  • The more precise your description, the closer the result: say what you want to see, which channel or status, and which period.

  • You can write in any language. It works best in your account's language.

Step by step

  1. Click Reports in the main menu.

  2. Open Report Builder.

  3. In Describe what you need, write the report you want in your own words, for example All Booking.com reservations from March that were not cancelled. For ideas, pick one of the examples under Try one of these.

  4. Click Build it.

  5. Check the summary under Here's what I built: the Dataset, the Fields it suggests and the Filters it has set. If something is wrong, click Refine the request and change your description.

  6. Click Use this — go to fields.

  7. Add or remove columns if needed, then click Next: filters.
    ​

  8. Check the filters and the period, enter a Report name, then click Save.
    ​

If the AI cannot build your report, you can try again with a different description or choose a dataset yourself below the description box.

  • Dataset: Reservations

  • Fields: the reservation details, plus a few related columns the AI suggests

  • Filters: Channel is Booking.com, status is not cancelled

FAQs

What if the AI builds something different from what I wanted?

Click Refine the request and describe it again with more detail. You can also click Use this — go to fields and change the columns and filters yourself before saving.

Why do I get a message saying the suggestion could not be applied?

Your description asks for data that isn't available for your property. Reword your request, or choose a dataset below the description box and build the report yourself.

Can I still build a report without the AI?

Yes. Choose a dataset below the description box and follow the usual steps. See How to use the report builder.

Why is my saved report empty?

There is no data matching your filters for the selected period, for example no Booking.com reservations in March. Change the period or check the filters.

Can I download, email or schedule a report built with the AI?

Yes. It is saved like any other report, so you can export it, email it or schedule it. See How to download or email your reports.
