FAQs
Should the cleaning fee be priced per article or per guest?
Should the cleaning fee be priced per article or per guest?
Per article. Cleaning is a one-time charge tied to the stay, not to the number of people. If you set it per guest, a booking for 4 people would be charged 4× the cleaning fee.
Why apply the cleaning fee on the departure day?
Why apply the cleaning fee on the departure day?
It mirrors when the actual cleaning happens (after checkout) and ensures the charge appears once per stay, regardless of how many nights the guest booked. Arrival day also works functionally, but Departure day is the convention most hoteliers use.
Can I have different cleaning fees for different accommodations?
Can I have different cleaning fees for different accommodations?
Yes. Create one cleaning fee extra per price tier (for example, Cleaning fee — studio and Cleaning fee — suite) and link each to the right accommodations under Availability. Only the matching cleaning fee will be applied to each booking.
Will the cleaning fee apply to bookings from Booking.com or other OTAs?
Will the cleaning fee apply to bookings from Booking.com or other OTAs?
No. Extras created in Amenitiz only apply to bookings made through your Amenitiz booking engine. To charge a cleaning fee on OTA bookings, you need to configure it directly in each OTA's extranet.
Can a guest remove the cleaning fee themselves?
Can a guest remove the cleaning fee themselves?
No. Because Apply automatically is on, the cleaning fee is mandatory and can't be unchecked during the booking flow. If you need to waive it for a specific direct booking, you can remove it manually when creating the reservation in the extranet.
