How to connect Amenitiz with Vrbo/Abritel

This article explains how to connect your Amenitiz account with Vrbo/Abritel.

Step-by-Step guide

1. Check your eligibility

Before starting the connection, make sure that:

  • Your listing is for an entire property (not just a room)

  • You have a valid VAT number (mandatory for the connection)

    • If you're in France, this can be your SIREN number

    • In Spain, this can be your Número de registro de la empresa

    • In Italy, this can be your Numero di registrazione dell'azienda

Properties in Maroco can not have connection with VRBO as AmenitizPay is not supported in Maroco and this feature is mandatory for the connection.

2.Understand Vrbo’s limitations

Before connecting, please be aware of the following:

  • 100% of the payment must be collected at the time of booking via AmenitizPay

      • If you already use non-refundable sales terms, make sure to link them to your VRBO rate plan

      • If not, go to AmenitizPay > Settings and update your payment calendar

  • Extras (e.g. cleaning fees) must be included in the rate – they cannot be added separately

  • Only one rate plan can be connected per property

  • Per-person pricing is not supported – prices apply per listing, not per guest

  • The VRBO listing title must be at least 20 characters long, and the description must contain a minimum of 400 characters.

3.Prepare the required information

To proceed with the connection, make sure to have the following ready:

  • VRBO listing link(s): if your property is already listed, send the public URLs

  • Rate plan selection: choose which rate plan you want to connect.
    Keep in mind that VRBO charges a 15% commission, so you may want to adjust your prices accordingly.

  • Property policies:

      • Guest rules: pets allowed? smoking? children?

      • Specific rules: quiet hours, shoes off indoors, etc.

      • Cancellation policy (choose one):

        • Strict – 100% refund if cancelled 60+ days before arrival

        • Firm – 100% refund 60+ days before, 50% refund 30+ days before

        • Moderate – 100% refund 30+ days before, 50% refund 14+ days before

        • Flexible – 100% refund 14+ days before, 50% refund 7+ days before

        • Non-refundable – no refunds

  • Payment & commission

      • Guests will pay directly through AmenitizPay

      • VRBO deducts a 15% commission from your credit card on the 2nd of each month for completed stays

Troubleshooting and Resolving Vrbo Integration Issues

If you experience issues after setting up the Amenitiz-Vrbo integration, consider the following steps:

  1. Complete Vrbo Account Onboarding: Verify that the activation process is finalized in your Vrbo account. An incomplete activation can cause synchronization issues, such as missing or incorrect prices.

  2. Ensure Single Sign-On (SSO) Onboarding is Complete: Check that the SSO process is duly executed for your listings to synchronize Amenitiz's rates and availability with Vrbo.

  • Activate and properly configure the rate plans linked to Vrbo.

  • Address alerts or discrepancies promptly to avoid disruptions.
