How to modify minimum and maximum stays

Updated yesterday

You can control the minimum and maximum number of nights guests can book for each rate plan. Edit these rules in Pricing (by rate plan, including different values for weekdays and weekends), make one-off changes in Inventory, or apply a Bulk update for a date range.

Where to edit stays

Pricing: set rules for a rate plan

Use this when you want a standing rule on a rate plan, including different values for weekdays and weekends.

Path: Booking Engine ▸ Pricing ▸ [select rate plan] ▸ Settings ▸ Minimum and Maximum stay

You will see four fields:

  • Minimum stay: Weekdays (Sun to Thu) and Weekends (Fri to Sat)

  • Maximum stay: Weekdays (Sun to Thu) and Weekends (Fri to Sat)

Steps

  1. Go to Booking Engine ▸ Pricing.

  2. Open the rate plan you want to edit.

  3. In Settings, enter your values.

    • Enter 0 for Maximum stay to allow unlimited nights.

  4. Click Save.

Note: If the rate plan’s restrictions are linked to another rate plan, your values may inherit from the linked plan. To set different values, make the restrictions independent for this rate plan. Edits to a parent plan apply to any plans linked to it.

Inventory: change a single date (override)

Use this when you need to change the rule for specific dates only.

Path: Planning ▸ Inventory

Steps

  1. Go to Planning ▸ Inventory.

  2. Click the left arrow to expand Min / Max Stay.

  3. Click the cell for the date you want to change under Min Stay or Max Stay.

  4. Type the new value. The change saves automatically and you will see Saved successfully.

Note: This creates a date-level override. If another rate plan is linked to this plan, the change can also affect the linked plan.

Bulk update: apply changes to a range of dates

Use this when you want to update many days at once, as explained in this article.

Path: Planning ▸ Bulk update

Choose the rate plan, select the date range, and set Min stay and Max stay. Apply the update.

Examples:

  • Weekend push: set Weekends (Fri to Sat) Min stay = 2 and Weekdays (Sun to Thu) Min stay = 1 in Pricing to encourage longer weekend stays.

  • Unlimited max: set Maximum stay = 0 (both weekday and weekend) to remove the cap on length of stay.

  • One-off event: in Inventory, set Min stay = 3 for festival dates without changing the rest of the month.

FAQs

Where do I set weekday and weekend minimum and maximum stays for a rate plan?

Go to Booking Engine ▸ Pricing, open the rate plan, and edit Restrictions. There are separate fields for Weekdays (Sun to Thu) and Weekends (Fri to Sat) under both Minimum stay and Maximum stay. Click Save.

How do I change the minimum or maximum stay for a single date?

Go to Planning ▸ Inventory, expand Min / Max Stay, click the date cell under Min Stay or Max Stay, enter the value, and the change saves automatically.

What is the difference between editing stays in Pricing versus Inventory?

Edits in Pricing set the standing rule for the rate plan, including different weekday and weekend values. Edits in Inventory override the rule for the specific dates you change.

How do linked restrictions affect minimum and maximum stays?

If a rate plan’s restrictions are linked to another plan, it inherits the parent plan’s values. Edits to the parent plan apply to the linked plan. To set different values on the child plan, make the restrictions independent.

Can I update minimum and maximum stays for many dates at once in Amenitiz?

Yes. Use Planning ▸ Bulk update to select a date range, choose the rate plan, and apply Min stay and Max stay values.
