How to add a reception hall to your property

Add a meeting room, banquet hall or conference space to Amenitiz to manage its bookings, pricing and revenue alongside your guest rooms.

Overview

Add a meeting room, banquet hall, conference room or other event venue to Amenitiz so you can manage its bookings, pricing and revenue alongside your guest rooms.

Use it to:

  • Rent out a wedding hall, conference room or banquet space

  • Sell coworking or meeting room time

  • Track venue revenue separately from accommodation revenue

A reception hall is added the same way as a guest room — you just pick Reception Hall as the accommodation type.

Before you start

  • You need admin access to your Amenitiz account.

  • Have the hall's capacity ready (total people), and any specific seating layouts you offer (theater, classroom, banquet, U-shape…).

  • Reception halls are not synced to OTAs (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia…). They are bookable through your direct booking engine and via manual reservations only.

  • Reception halls are excluded from your occupancy, ADR and RevPAR dashboard. Their revenue is tracked separately under Reception Hall Revenue.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. In the sidebar, go to PropertyAccommodations.

  2. Click Add a new accommodation.

  3. In the type selector, choose Reception Hall.

  4. Fill in the required fields:

    • Name and description (in each of your website languages)

    • Number of halls — usually 1, increase only if you have several identical halls

    • Capacity — total number of people the hall can host

    • Default price

  5. (Optional) Add seating layouts in the Reception Hall Places section — for example: theater (100 seats), banquet (75 seats), classroom (60 seats). Click + Add Place Type for each layout.

  6. (Optional) Add amenities (projector, Wi-Fi, sound system…) and photos.

  7. Click Save.

  8. If you want the hall bookable online, open a rate for it from Inventory. See How to open a rate on a date.

Important rules

📌 Note — Reception halls are excluded from OTAs (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia…), from PriceLabs / Smartness pricing automation, and from the occupancy / ADR / RevPAR dashboard metrics. Their revenue is tracked separately under "Reception Hall Revenue" in your reports.

Important — Use the Shown on website and Shown on booking engine toggles to control where the hall appears. Turning both off hides the hall from guests without deleting it.

FAQs

How is a reception hall different from a regular room?

Same place behind the scenes — calendar, charges, bills, invoices and manual bookings all work the same. The differences are:

  • Seating layouts (theater, banquet, classroom…) instead of beds

  • No OTA sync — never sent to Booking.com / Airbnb / Expedia

  • No PriceLabs / Smartness automation — pricing stays manual

  • Excluded from occupancy and ADR/RevPAR on your dashboard

  • Tracked under a separate Reception Hall Revenue KPI

Can guests book my reception hall online?

Yes, if you enable it. Set Shown on booking engine to on and open a rate for the hall from Inventory. Guests pick their rental period and enter the number of expected people to finalize the booking.

Can I sync my reception hall to Booking.com or Airbnb?

No. OTAs are designed for sleeping accommodation, so reception halls are never sent to them. They remain bookable only via your Amenitiz booking engine and through manual reservations.

How do I set different prices for different seating layouts?

The seating layouts are informational — they tell guests how the hall can be set up. Pricing applies to the hall itself. To charge differently per setup, create separate rates and apply them at booking time.

How do I hide a reception hall without deleting it?

Open the hall, turn off Shown on website and Shown on booking engine, then save. The hall stays in your inventory and reports but is no longer visible to guests.

Can I delete a reception hall that already has bookings?

Yes. Existing bookings and their financial records are preserved — only the hall is removed from your active inventory. Contact support if you need to restore a deleted hall.

Where do I see reception hall revenue?

In your revenue reports, reception hall revenue appears as a separate line — distinct from accommodation revenue. This way you can see how much your venue generates independently of room nights.
