How to block or unblock an Airbnb listing

Hide an Airbnb listing temporarily from the market (without disconnecting) and put it back later. Both actions are on the three-dot menu in Channel Manager → OTAS → Airbnb. Existing reservations are not affected.

Overview

Block an Airbnb listing to take it off the market temporarily without disconnecting it from Amenitiz — useful for off-season closures, refurbishments, or when you want to remove a room from sale without losing its mapping. Unblock it later to put it back on Airbnb. Both actions live in the same three-dot menu next to the room in the Channel Manager.

Before you start

  • Only works for Airbnb listings connected through Amenitiz's direct Channel Manager. Third-party connectors (WuBook, etc.) don't expose this control here.

  • Block/unblock is per room. If you want to hide several rooms, repeat the action for each.

  • Blocking doesn't affect existing reservations — only new bookings are stopped. Existing guests still arrive as planned.

  • A blocked listing is hidden on Airbnb but stays mapped to your Amenitiz room — your mapping, prices and settings are preserved.

Step 1 — Open the Airbnb connection page

  1. In the sidebar, go to Channel Manager.

  2. Click the OTAS tab.

  3. Scroll to Active Connections and click Airbnb.

Step 2 — Block or unblock the listing

On the room row, click the three-dot menu (⋯) and pick the action you need:

  • Block room — hides the listing on Airbnb. A red mark appears on the row to confirm it's blocked.

  • Unblock room — republishes the listing. The red mark disappears and bookings resume.

Repeat for any other rooms you want to block or unblock.

FAQs

Will blocking cancel existing Airbnb bookings?

No. Block only stops new bookings on Airbnb. Reservations already confirmed before the block stay confirmed and the guest arrives as planned.

What's the difference between blocking and unmapping a listing?

Block hides the listing on Airbnb but keeps your mapping, prices and settings in Amenitiz — easy to flip back on. Unmap removes the link between the Amenitiz room and the Airbnb listing entirely — you'd have to re-map and reconfigure to reuse it.

I clicked Block but the listing is still showing on Airbnb. Why?

Airbnb takes a few minutes to update. If it's still visible after 30 minutes, check the connection is the direct Amenitiz one (not WuBook or another middleware), and that the red mark appeared on the row after you clicked — if it didn't, click again. Still stuck? Contact [email protected].

Can I block a listing for specific dates only?

Block/unblock applies to the whole listing, not specific dates. For date-range closures, use your inventory calendar to close availability for those dates instead — the listing stays visible on Airbnb but shows as unavailable.

Does blocking affect my other OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia)?

No. This control is Airbnb-only. To pause Booking.com or other OTAs, use their own extranet, or close availability across the board via your inventory calendar.
