Overview

When a property has a cottage (a combined unit) made up of several rooms that can also be sold individually, linking them tells Amenitiz they share inventory. Booking the cottage closes its rooms; booking a room closes the cottage. No more accidental double-sales of the same space.

Classic example: a Family Cottage that's also rentable as Room A + Room B. A guest books the cottage → both rooms go unavailable. A guest books just Room A → the cottage and Room B's combined availability close out.

Before you start

This feature is available on B&B and Property Manager property types. Other property setups don't expose the link.
Only works with individual rooms — rooms with a stock greater than 1 unit aren't supported.
The bidirectional blocking is triggered by reservations and by manual date blocks on the calendar. It is not triggered by inventory edits — if you bulk-add stock back via the Inventory page, you can unintentionally re-open availability and cause overbookings. Be careful with bulk updates on linked rooms.
If you change the accommodation type after a link is set up, the sharing breaks silently. Re-link the room from the room editor after any type change.
Activating shared availability doesn't retroactively affect existing bookings — only new reservations and manual blocks made after enabling the feature respect the link.

Link rooms to a cottage

Enable the feature globally. Go to Booking engine → Booking engine settings and turn on Allow linking of a room to a specific cottage. Save.
Open the room you want to link. Go to Property → Accomodations, click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the room, and select Edit room.
Scroll to the Link to a cottage field. From the Select a cottage to link dropdown, pick the cottage this room belongs to.
Click Save. The link is established. Repeat for every room that should share availability with the same cottage.

FAQs

I don't see the "Link to a cottage" field — what's wrong?

Either the global setting isn't on (check Booking engine → Booking engine settings → Allow linking of a room to a specific cottage), or your property type doesn't support it (only B&B and Property Manager do), or the room has a stock greater than 1 (set it to a single unit). Fix whichever applies and the field appears.

I changed my room's accommodation type — why isn't the link working anymore?

Changing the accommodation type silently breaks the shared-availability link. Open the room editor again, scroll to Link to a cottage, re-pick the cottage from the dropdown, and save. The link is restored.

Why doesn't the bulk-update on Inventory respect the link?

Inventory edits (including the Bulk Update tool) work at the availability/stock level directly. Linked rooms only auto-close on reservations and manual date blocks on the calendar — not on raw stock changes. If you use Bulk Update on a linked room, you can re-open availability that should stay closed, causing an overbooking. Use the Calendar for manual blocks on linked rooms instead.

I already had bookings before enabling shared availability — does it apply to them?

No. Shared availability only applies to bookings and manual blocks created after you turn it on. Existing bookings are unaffected — if they were sold in a way that now conflicts, you'll need to spot the conflicts manually and resolve them.

Can I link several rooms to the same cottage?

Yes — that's the typical setup. A Family Cottage with Room A and Room B has both rooms linked to the cottage. Booking either room closes the cottage; booking the cottage closes both rooms.

What happens if I try to drag-and-drop a linked room on the Calendar?

Drag-and-drop is disabled on linked rooms — the linkage would break. To reassign a booking on a linked room, use See booking details → three-dot menu → Switch accommodation. See how to switch rooms on a reservation.
