How to add a button to a block of your website

Open the website builder, click a block, tick Add a button in its settings, set the label and link (internal page or external URL), then save.

Overview

Most blocks on your Amenitiz website can include a button — a call-to-action that links to another page of your site (like the booking engine) or to an external URL. This article shows how to switch the button on for a block, configure where it points, and customise its design.

Before you start

  • You need the Can edit the website permission to open the website builder. If the Customize button doesn't appear, ask your Account Owner.

  • The button option isn't available on every block — only blocks designed with a call-to-action area. If you don't see the Button section in the block's settings, that block doesn't support a button.

  • A button can link to one of your own pages (home, rooms, booking engine, a custom page…) or to any external URL.

  • On column blocks, each column can have its own button — activate them column-by-column from Content rather than from the block-level Button section.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the website builder: go to WebsiteWebsite in the sidebar and click Customize in the top-right corner. You'll land on the home page — open the Pages tab to switch to another page if needed. See how to use the website builder for the full walkthrough.

  2. Select the block you want to add a button to. The block is highlighted as you hover it, and its settings open in the side panel.

  3. In the side panel, find the Button section and tick Add a button. For column blocks, open Content, pick the column you want the button on, then tick Add a button there.

  4. Configure the button:

    • Label — the text shown on the button (e.g. "Book now").

    • Link — pick an internal page from the dropdown, or paste an external URL.

    • Design — set the button's colour, size, and (where available) its weight and alignment. The button uses your Theme's typography by default; per-block overrides are possible via how to change the text font.

  5. Click Save to publish the change.

FAQs

I don't see the Button section on a block — why?

The button option isn't available on every block type. Only blocks designed with a call-to-action area expose the Button section. Try a different block, or add a button-friendly block — see how to add a block to your website.

How do I add a button on a column block?

Column blocks treat each column independently — the button toggle isn't in the main Button section but inside Content. Open Content, pick the column you want, then tick Add a button for that column. Each column has its own label, link and design.

Can I link the button to an external URL?

Yes. In the Link field, paste the full URL (e.g. https://example.com/special-offer). External links open as configured — most opens in the same tab unless your theme overrides that.

Can I link the button straight to the booking engine?

Yes — the booking engine is one of the internal pages available in the Link dropdown. Pick it from the list rather than pasting a URL so the link stays correct if your domain ever changes.

Can the button label be translated into the languages I support?

Yes. The button label is part of the website's translatable content. In the Translations section (or via the flag icon next to the label field), set the wording for each activated language.

How do I remove a button I no longer want?

Open the block's settings, find the Button section (or the column inside Content, for column blocks), and untick Add a button. Click Save — the button disappears from the live site.
