Overview
A split booking is a single reservation that covers more than one room with different arrival or departure dates. Use it when a guest moves between rooms during their stay (for example, nights 1–2 in Room A and nights 3–5 in Room B), or when a group's rooms don't all start on the same day.
This article shows how to create a split booking from your admin and how it appears on your calendar. Two versions of the manual booking screen are in use and both can create one — the steps below cover each.
📌 Note
Which steps you follow depends on the booking screen your property has. Open a manual booking and look at the rooms: if every room you add carries its own dates, follow If each room has its own dates. If the rooms you pick collect under Selected rooms with an Add a room with different dates button below them, follow If your screen has an Add a room with different dates button.
Before you start
Split bookings are created manually from the admin only. Reservations imported from OTAs (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia…) keep their single-segment structure — the OTA holds the source of truth.
Each room in a split booking can have its own dates, occupancy, price and extras — set them when you add the room.
All the rooms sit inside one stay: the booking runs from the earliest arrival to the latest departure across its rooms.
Step-by-step instructions
Open the manual booking screen
From the top bar of your admin, click
Add reservation.Or go to
Planning→Calendarand click the slot for the check-in day and room you want. The booking screen opens with that date and room already filled in.
For everything else a manual booking covers — guests, extras and payments — see How to create a new reservation step by step if each room carries its own dates, or How to manually add a reservation for the screen with the Add a room with different dates button.

💡 Tip
Want to create a manual reservation without charging the guest upfront? Set the first charge to 0€ in AmenitizPay — the payment method gets validated and your terms accepted, but no money is taken.
Add more rooms after the booking is saved
Open the booking and click
Add accommodation.By default, the new room covers the whole stay — from the earliest arrival to the furthest departure across all rooms.
To put the new room on different dates, click the
⋯three-dot menu on its card and adjust its arrival and departure.
How a split booking shows up on your calendar
Each room of a split booking appears as its own bar on its specific dates, with a small 1/2 → 2/2 label indicating the segment order — so the same booking is recognisable across multiple rooms and date ranges. For more on calendar layout, see How to check the information displayed on your calendar.

I don't see the "Add a room with different dates" button — what should I do?
Your property is on the booking screen where each room carries its own dates instead. Set the stay dates, add your rooms, then change the dates on each room individually — see If each room has its own dates above. The result is the same booking.

Can I create a split booking from an OTA reservation?
No. OTAs (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia…) hold the source of truth for their bookings, so split bookings can only be created manually from your Amenitiz admin. An OTA booking keeps its original single-segment structure.
Can I add several rooms with the same dates inside a split booking?
Can I add several rooms with the same dates inside a split booking?
Yes. Where each room carries its own dates, add the rooms you need and leave the ones sharing dates untouched — every room starts on the stay dates. On the screen with Add a room with different dates, keep clicking the + next to rooms on the available list before you start a new date range.
What's the difference between a split booking and "Add accommodation"?
What's the difference between a split booking and "Add accommodation"?
Add accommodation adds a room to an existing booking and keeps the same arrival and departure dates as that booking — see How to add an accommodation to a reservation. A split booking, on the other hand, is created from scratch and lets each room have its own dates.
