How to activate AmenitizPay for your property

Activate AmenitizPay (powered by Stripe) to take cards, SEPA, payment links, OTA virtual cards and pre-authorisations. Setup takes 5 minutes to 48 hours.

Overview

AmenitizPay is the payment processor built into Amenitiz, powered by Stripe Connect. Once activated, your property can take card and SEPA payments from direct bookings, Booking.com, Expedia, virtual cards from OTAs (Airbnb, VRBO…), payment links sent by email, and Bluetooth card terminals.

You can use it to:

  • Charge guests automatically at the time of booking

  • Send secure payment links by email

  • Take pre-authorisations and capture them later

  • Process pre-arrival payments on a schedule you define

  • Charge virtual cards received from OTAs

  • Issue refunds and track chargebacks/disputes

Activation is a self-service process that takes between 5 minutes and 48 hours, depending on how quickly Stripe verifies your identity documents.

Before you start

  • Your property must be in a supported country (see the list below).

  • Your currency must use 2 decimals (EUR, USD, GBP, CHF… — not JPY).

  • You need an active Amenitiz subscription plan.

  • Have these ready for Stripe's onboarding form:

    • Your business details (legal name, address, tax/VAT ID)

    • The signatory's ID (passport or driver's licence) and date of birth

    • The bank account where you want to receive payouts (IBAN + account holder)

Step-by-step instructions

  1. In the Amenitiz sidebar, go to AmenitizPay.

  2. Click Activate it today, then Create my account.

  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe's hosted onboarding. Fill in your personal details, upload your ID document, and add your bank details for payouts.

  4. Submit. Stripe verifies your information automatically. Most accounts activate in 5–10 minutes; some require manual review and take up to 48 hours.

  5. You'll receive a confirmation email when AmenitizPay is ready.

🔔 Property managers — If you have several properties under different legal entities, you can activate multiple AmenitizPay accounts and route payouts to each owner. See How to activate several AmenitizPay accounts.

How do I know it's activated?

  1. Go to AmenitizPaySettingsAccount.

  2. The status should read Active (or Complete).

AmenitizPay account status panel

If the status is:

  • Pending — Stripe is still verifying. Wait a few minutes and refresh.

  • Restricted or Restricted soon — Stripe needs more information. Click the three dots and select Manage account to complete the missing fields on Stripe's side.

  • Rejected — Stripe declined the account. Contact Amenitiz support.

Finish setup once activated

Three things to do right after activation:

  1. Configure your payment schedule — define when deposits and balances are charged. See How to set up your payment schedule.

  2. Update your terms and conditions — see How to update your terms and conditions.

  3. Check enabled channels — in AmenitizPay → Settings, confirm that Use at checkout, Use for OTA and Use for virtual cards (VCC) are switched on for the channels you want.

Payment methods accepted

  • Credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay — enabled automatically on compatible browsers

  • SEPA Direct Debit — EUR currencies only

  • Payment links — sent by email; guests pay on a Stripe-hosted page

  • Bluetooth card terminals — for in-person payments

  • OTA virtual cards (VCC) — from Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com and others

3D Secure / SCA is handled automatically for EU cards.

Important rules

📌 Powered by Stripe — AmenitizPay uses Stripe Connect under the hood. Your KYC documents go directly to Stripe — Amenitiz never sees your ID details.

Country-gated — AmenitizPay is only available in the countries listed below. Currencies must be 2-decimal (EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, SEK… — not JPY).

⚠️ Pending or Restricted can happen later too — your account can be paused if Stripe requires additional verification (annual reviews, suspicious activity…). Watch your AmenitizPay status and respond to Stripe emails promptly.

FAQs

How long does activation take?

Most activations complete in 5–10 minutes if your documents are clear and verifiable. Some accounts require Stripe's manual review, which can take up to 48 hours. Beyond that, contact Amenitiz support.

What are the AmenitizPay fees?

AmenitizPay charges a per-transaction fee (a percentage plus a fixed amount) that varies by country. Fees are deducted before payouts, so the amount that lands in your bank account is net of fees. The exact rate for your country is shown during onboarding and in your subscription terms.

When will I receive my payouts?

Stripe sends payouts on a schedule — typically daily for EU countries, weekly elsewhere. See your payout history and next expected payout under AmenitizPay → Payouts.

I lost my phone or changed my number — how do I log in?

Stripe handles your account login. See Stripe's article on recovering your account.

What does "Pending" status mean?

Stripe is still verifying your information. Most accounts move from Pending → Active automatically within minutes. If it stays Pending for more than 48 hours, click Manage account to check if any field is still missing.

What does "Restricted" status mean?

Stripe needs more information to keep your account active. Common reasons: an ID document expired, the business address can't be verified, or annual re-verification is due. Click Manage account to see exactly what to fix.

Can I have multiple AmenitizPay accounts?

Yes, if you manage several properties under different legal entities. See How to activate several AmenitizPay accounts.

Can I deactivate AmenitizPay?

Yes. Go to AmenitizPay → Settings → Account and choose to delete the account. Any pending payments must be settled first. Once deactivated, the Stripe Connect account is closed and you'll need to repeat onboarding to reactivate.

What happens to pending bookings if my Stripe account is rejected?

Pending payments freeze. You can still record bookings manually but card capture won't work until the account is back to Active. Contact Amenitiz support immediately if the rejection seems wrong — Stripe sometimes asks for clarification documents.
